Juror
: Laurie Russell
Ruff Art Pet Portraits

Laurie Russell is a self-taught artist who has a feel for animals. She moved to Winston-Salem, N.C. in 1984 and fell in love with the city. Laurie Russell has been a member of the Seed Collective for three years. Laurie says,  "I try to capture the animal's personality in each painting that I do. I ask questions concerning the pet's quirks and attitude. What are some of the more endearing qualities of the animal? I like to use color and I always paint on wooden panels. I can paint on any size panel and can put more than one pet on a painting as well. It all depends upon what the individual needs."
